POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sales Consultant is responsible for prospecting and converting leads into clients and for providing forecasts for business expected to close. Sales opportunities may extend throughout NY, NJ, CT, and MA. Sales efforts include representing multiple product offerings, including distributor and subcontractor relationships, as well as construction services. We have a steady stream of pre-qualified clients, referrals, and existing repeat business.

Compensation: Base salary range of $40K to $50K, plus unlimited commission eligibility. Targeted total annual compensation of $100K.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct in-depth research on prospects to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Convert leads into clients, with the ability to close business over the phone, by email and in-person.
  • Become an expert on the features and benefits of Artech’s services and the associated products that Artech represents and uses.
  • Drive business growth. This will be done by working to maximize revenues from prospects.
  • Perform Sales Activity Reporting.
  • Utilizing the company’s CRM software, enter and track all business opportunities from identification to closing in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales reporting, as required.
  • Follow Company pricing guidelines and policies.
  • Prepare bids/proposals and material estimates from customer/contractor supplied blueprints and your own field measurements.
  • Accurately and completely prepare customer order documentation.
  • Consistently deliver positive customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Support operations, as needed.
  • Actively participate in all Company sales meetings, industry trade shows and conferences, as directed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and sales expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS/RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Work Experience: At least 2 years as an outside sales representative. B2B experience and/or distributor sales experience a plus.

Computer & Special Skills: Strong level of proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Previous experience using CRM software a plus. Experience with sound engineering, lighting, and video production a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider work experience in lieu of degree.

Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for business travel.

Classification: Full-time, Exempt (Salaried)

Supervision: This position does not supervise other employees.

Background Check: All employment offers will be contingent upon submitting to and passing a background check consisting of SSN validation, criminal background check (including sex offender registry), Global Watchlist check and motor vehicle history.

Travel: This position requires up to 50% travel, all of which is driving within a geographically reasonable territory. Must have your own reliable transportation available and maintain up to date registration and insurance (limits to be approved by employer). When you use your own vehicle, you will be reimbursed for mileage at the then current IRS rates. At times, you may alternatively use a Company vehicle (based on availability).

Other: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for Company sponsorship.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:

Work is performed in a general office environment and visiting prospect and client locations. Repetitive bending and stooping with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required. Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for completing data entry. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads and copy equipment essential. Visual acuity is needed to conduct field measurements. Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with the public and staff in the English language. Be physically able to navigate tight spaces
